Description:

Chemistry is the foundation for making new medicines, developing new materials, and finding solutions to global problems. A chemistry degree from South Dakota Mines can lead to exciting work in research and development, consulting, law, environmental sciences, and many other fields.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

    First-time Freshmen must:

    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75 at the secondary (high school).
    • Be proficient in English.
    • Provide an acceptable SAT or ACT score or an Accuplacer Math score. 
    • Math sub-scores should be a minimum of 520 on the SAT or 20 on the ACT.
    • Only applicants with an SAT or ACT score are eligible for merit-based scholarships.
